External pre-paint repairs and planned painting

The exterior of your home is exposed to continuously changing weather conditions which means they deteriorate over time. Every seven years we will carry out work to repair and repaint the exterior elements of your home, where necessary.

Things you need to know

Installation
The major content of the work will be carried out externally and workmen will require access to the front, rear and sides of your property.

What work will be done?
The work will normally consist of washing down all UPVC window and door frames, fascias, soffits and guttering. We will also repair any external defects and prepare and paint all previously painted timber and masonry surfaces and all waste pipes. We will also repair/replace doors and windows to stores and re-paint /stain as appropriate.

The painting work is normally done over a couple of days but this is weather permitting, so it may take longer. Pre-paint repairs may be done some week in advance of the painting.

Disruption to your home
We will endeavor to keep the disruption to a minimum but there may be restricted access to your home while the work is being carried out. There may be some noise. We may need to use equipment such as lift and hoist access or scaffolding to enable us to paint difficult to access areas.

We will ensure Contractors treat your home with courtesy and respect. Dust sheets will be used and the contractor will clean up any mess. All equipment will be packed away at the end of each day.

As a matter of security please do not let any workperson working on behalf of Bromford into your home without requesting to see their identification.

Things you need to do before the work starts
To assist the contractor, before the work starts, please remove any obstructions such as hanging baskets, pots and garden furniture etc that will stop the workmen carrying out the work. Please be aware that there will be workmen working off ladders around your property.

Please ensure that any trellis or plants attached to walls are removed to enable the painting to be done. The workers try to protect plants where possible, but you should remove special or delicate items from the area to avoid damage.

Remember, timber doors and windows will need to be painted in the open position, and can take up to five - six hours to dry.

You are advised to move your vehicle away from the areas we are painting.

Please keep all pets and children under control and away from the working area.
