Work Starts on New Homes in Churchdown

Work has started to create brand new homes at Severn Vale Housing’s Parklands development in Churchdown. Malvern-based national contractor Speller Metcalfe will begin piling work on the site in November.

Parklands is a retirement living scheme off Cheltenham Road in Churchdown. It is currently home to twenty two people.

Construction work will begin on five bungalows, six one-bedroom flats and a conversion into two flats of the old caretaker house. There will be a total of thirteen units.

The work is expected to take forty eight weeks to complete and will involve adding a new access road. Up to sixteen new residents could be living at Parklands when the project is completed.

Severn Vale Development Manager Chris Knibbs said:”We have been working on this project for over a year now and it is great to have got it through the planning process and to have the contractors Speller Metcalfe on board. I am looking forward to watching the project come to fruition”.
