Customers in Winchcombe and surrounding areas will be able to have a chat with tenancy renewal officers Helen Richards and Adrian Warburton this month, as they visit households to introduce our new tenancy agreeement.
The change is being made because the current agreement is almost 20 years and is no longer in line with current legislation.
The new tenancy agreement ensures that customers do not lose any of their existing rights, as head of housing Ryan Barkle, exaplins: "As long as customers abide by the tenancy agreement, including paying their rent, they will benefit from a lifetime tenancy. Not only is the new agreement easier to follow, it also brings us up-to-date with the legislation."
"We know that the vast majority of our customers are a credit to the communities in which they live. But for those who cause antisocial behaviour and other tenancy breaches, this new agreement makes it easier for us to take legal action against them."
He added: "Customers are under no pressure to sign the new tenancy agreement, and can take the information away to discuss it with their family."
During Helen and Adrian's visit, customers will be asked to update their details, such as contact telephone number, and will be shown how to use their online account. By going online, customers can check their rent balance, report a repair and send a message at their convenience, any time of day or night.
Customer visits are taking place in Winchcombe, Witcombe, Bishops Cleeve, Toddington, Moreton-in-Marsh and Cheltenham areas.
