Severn Vale Housing nominated by charity for Gloucestershire Business Award

A nomination by Brockworth Link has recognised the work of grants and social value office Janette Vizard, as part of Severn Vale's investment in the local community.

The Local Business Charity Awards, founded by Jelf in 2014 and now sponsored jointly with Ageas, recognise the support given by Gloucestershire companies to local Gloucestershire charities. Severn Vale Housing is a finalist in the Ageas award, for charities with an annual income of less than £200,000 a year.

Janette Vizard Janette has been working with Brockworth Link for around two years and, during that time, has supported their team to submit many grant applications for activities at the library, including building improvements, school holiday activities for children, youth work and to cover core salaries.

"I'm delighted that we've received the nomination, and would like to say thank you to Monica Constantinescu at Brockworth Link for putting my name forward.  We've been working closely together, and always discuss future project ideas to ensure that there is sufficient capacity to meet the requirements of the grant funders, and exactly how a project could operate, all before applications are submitted. I have good networks across the county and we often look to work with other organisations and partners to deliver new projects and activities, and really bring people and skills together. We also support the Link with advice on governance, such as the constitution, policies and procedures, as these all have a critical impact on the success or otherwise of grant applications."

"Brockworth Link, like many of the charities we support, doesn’t have dedicated staff or the experience of governance and grants, and the work we do to help is considered an important source of support, allowing them to make full use of their time in running their charity."

Monica Constantinescu General Manager at Brockworth Link, commented: “We have been working with Janette for over 2 years and in this time she has helped us to locate suitable grants, write bids and application forms and assist in managing policies and procedures. She has been an immense help to us and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her help."

"We would like to express our gratitude for her time spent with us and to say thank you to Severn Vale for their support over the years.”
