What is mutual exchange?

A mutual exchange is basically a home swap with another tenant. You can swap homes with any housing association or council tenant in the UK providing they have the right to mutual exchange and want to swap homes with you.

Homeswapper ~Top 10 Tips!Swaps can involve more than one property

You can swap with one tenant, which is known as direct exchange, or you could try and find a three way house exchange. There is no limit to how many people in the swap, however the more complicated it gets the more likely it is to fail as there are more people to change their mind.

Bromford is a member of the nationwide mutual exchange scheme called HomeSwapper. This online system allows you to view available properties and contact potential tenants you’d like to swap with.

How does it work?

You will first need to register with HomeSwapper, they will contact us in order to confirm that you are one of our customers. Once this has been approved, HomeSwapper will email you to confirm your successful registration. You will then be able to go online and view matches. HomeSwapper will also email you with details of suitable exchange partners.
