Severn Vale Housing provides the Helpline Community Alarm Service to people of all ages in the Tewkesbury Borough and Cotswold Areas.

Helpline is a way of getting help through your telephone system quickly and efficiently 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. It consists of a small personal radio transmitter called a pendant that can be worn around the neck, clipped to clothing or worn on a wrist strap.

 

When pressed the pendant will trigger a base unit that will sit alongside your telephone and is easy to use.

How does it work?

By pressing the integral button on the base unit or the pendant a call will be made to our Control Centre. Your personal details will come up on a computer screen and a trained operator will be able to talk to you through a powerful loud speaker and microphone wherever you are in the home.

 

How will they help me?

The Control Centre will quickly find out what help you need and call one of your nominated contacts such as a neighbour or a friend who has a key to your home. If required they will also call an Ambulance or a Doctor. The control room staff will stay on the line until help arrives.

 

What do I need before it can be installed?

You will need a telephone line with a modern jack plug socket and a 13 amp electrical socket. Both of these points need to be within 5 feet of each other and, for safety, on the same wall.

How much does it cost?

Our Helpline ‘400’ Alarm Unit installed with maintenance and monitoring costs £36.56 per quarter.
