Risk of scalding from immersion heater system
There is a small chance that if your immersion heater overheats, boiling water could build up in the tank in the roof and spill through the ceiling causing injury.
Typical Warnings Signs Include:
- Excessively hot water coming out of the hot taps
- Excessive noise or bubbling from the hot water cylinder
- Hot water coming out of certain cold taps (some storage tanks also feed cold water taps in bathrooms)
- Steam/moisture in roof space or hot water from overflow pipe
