Estate Surgeries

 

Overview & Feedback for Pilot Surgeries and Walkabouts during 2011

During the early part 2011 we have carried out some estate surgeries and walkabouts.  In total there were six events:

Surgeries

27th January 2011 in Atherton Close at the Sheltered Scheme

24th February 2011 in Priors Park in Priors Park Neighbourhood Project (PPNP) in Queens Road  

24th March 2011 in Bishops Cleeve at Bishops Cleeve Parish Council Offices

Walkabouts

22nd February 2011 around Brockworth, covering the Green Bank & Abbotswood Road area

12th April 2011 around Priors Park starting at Lanes Court

19th April 2011 around Ashleworth - door knocking exercise

Overview

The Customer Consultative Group (CCG) helped to choose the events dates and the locations.  Where possible the dates were chosen to fit in with school holidays as we wanted to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to attend.

On reflection these events worked better when combined as a Walkabout/Surgery.  We did change the format and the Priors Park Walkabout was advertised with a surgery to follow.

The most succesful event was in Ashleworth.  All of our customers were written to and they recieved an individual visit from one of our officers.  In addition to this half of these visits also had a village agent attending.  The amount of work done was far greater in a short period of time in comparision to the surgeries where the attendance was much lower.

Customer Feedback

Throughout the pilot customers were asked to provide feedback on how they felt about the events ie what went well, areas of change etc.

All customers who attended either a Surgery or a Walkabout were satisfied or very satisfied with the following:

• Severn Vale Housing Staff who attended the events
• The venues that were used
• Areas that they walked around
• Overall content of the event

Ashleworth customers commented that they liked the One 2 One to contact with SVHS. 

Customers were also asked if they would attend similar events in the future, all of them said yes!
